Here’s a common situation: You send out an email to someone. Or to lots of someones.
And then you wait.
Did your recipients open the email? Right away? On their desktop? Or on their iPhone while in line at the coffee shop?
Dan Shure at Evolving SEO says it looks like this:
Wouldn’t it be great to know the answer to these questions instead of just waiting for a reply? And wondering when you should send a polite second or third followup email?
Matthew Bellows thought so too. As a salesperson he needed these abilities. He ouldn’t find them in another product and so he started Yesware.
This free email productivity software for Gmail and MS Office was developed for salespeople. But you don’t have to be in sales. Anyone who sends a lot of email will find that Yesware delivers lots of insight after you send your email.
Yesware works as a plugin for Chrome and Firefox. Features include:
- Email tracking – you can see when someone opens your email, what device they used, even where they are located.
- Customizable templates – Makes it easy to re-use those emails that you send out repeatedly or regularly. Also lets you share templates with other people in your group.
- CRM integration – Include a bcc: to your CRM application and your email will automatically be integrated with your CRM.
- Analytics – built right into Gmail.
I’m experimenting with Yesware. So far, so good. Easy to install. Intuitive to use. Has lots of built-in reporting and analytics features. Haven’t used it long enough to try them. I’ll let you know how those features work after I’ve spent more time with Yesware.
Oh, did I mention that Yesware is free? Sure, there’s an upgrade to a paid version. But it’s so easy to install and use, gives you so much information as soon as you start using it, every heavy email user to give it a try.
Dan Shure wrote an excellent review of Yesware. Much more detail than I’ve included here. As he illustrates, with Yesware your email can look more like this:
